Rev. Bill Thompson is currently the pastor of Metro North Church. He has been the pastor since June 1, 2001 .
Bill Thompson is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. He has been married for almost 30 years to Carroll Cobb Thompson, also a native of Memphis. Bill and Carroll have three children: Anna, Oliver and William. Anna is married to Hank Uzzell and they are on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. Oliver and his wife, Katie, live in Columbia and attend Columbia International University. William is enrolled at Winthrop University.
Bill has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Memphis and a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1985 and transferred into the Presbyterian Church in America in 1991.
Before coming to Metro North Church, he was senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Dothan, Alabama for nine years. Prior to his ministry in Dothan, he served churches in Newark , New Jersey and Atlanta, Georgia.
