"Watch your life and doctrine Closely" I Timothy 4:16a
Men and women, leaders and potential leaders, younger adults and older are all invited to participate in an extensive course of theological training. Come and drink deeply of the refreshing waters of the biblical doctrines of Reformed and Covenant Theology.
As the name indicates, TFL is a class designed to prepare leaders for ministry. If you have a sense that God is calling you to discover your personal ministry (Eph. 2:10), this class is the next step in the preparation process. No other training excels this class in content and personal impact. It is a key component in Metro North's leadership development process.
TFL is offered each year during the summer. It usually begins late May or early June, runs for ten weeks and concludes with a final exam. During TFL, participants work through weekly assignments outlined in the student manuals and read a number of books including: The Westminster Confession of Faith, The Covenant of Grace (Cummings) and The Five Points of Calvinism (Palmer). Portions of the PCA Book of Church Order and Berkhof's Summary of Christian Doctrine are also read. Homework is intensive, short essay format, often requiring thoughtful application of materials covered. It typically takes 4-5 hours each week to complete. During class the materials are further explored through interactive discussion. Hence, it is necessary that everyone faithfully completes all homework assignments, including listening to all assigned audios.
This year TFL is held on Wednesday nights from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. beginning May 28, 2008. Childcare is available upon request. Contact Bill Thompson or Nate Arnold to enroll or if you have any questions or, register here.
