At Metro our mission is to connect people to the transforming grace of God and prepare them for life in Christ. We believe Christ gave us teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry and for the building up of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12).

One practical way we seek to accomplish this mission is through our Equip hour from 9-10 a.m. on Sunday.

This hour of intentional discipleship happens during interactive classes, short seminars, and ministry team training. One month we may offer a 4 week series on Biblical parenting; the next we may be doing training for our small group leaders. Some classes may be more practical in nature, like Financial Peace University, while others dive deep into complex theological questions. Read below to see the categories of classes and meetings most often offered during this hour.

Discipleship courses

Interactive beginner, intermediate and advanced courses allow teachers and learners to encounter Christ together through the Spirit and the Scriptures. The aim of these classes is to equip our members to: encounter, perceive, critically consider, passionately embrace, faithfully obey and embody Scriptural Truth in their daily life to the glory of God.

Connect classes

Are you new to Metro North, interested in church membership, or just wondering what “being a Christian” is all about? If so, join us for a Connect Class where you'll learn about Metro's vision and mission to be a signpost and outpost of the grace of God. Along the way, you'll meet new friends, connect with church staff, and even become a church member if that's your desire. This class is taught multiple times a year.

Leadership training

We identify, develop and deploy grace-animated leaders to serve in key ministry roles. Metro is a greenhouse for growing leaders and we love to cultivate and care for them.

quarterly congregational meetings

For our church family we believe that transparency creates trust.  We love to gather to share what's going on as we occasionally vote on crucial things and update everyone on our Transform initiative during this three year vision season.
